Prospective students of OSIPP or Grad school of Econ of Osaka U. who are thinking to choose me as an academic adviser (As of Oct 2019)

• You might be benefited from choosing me as an adviser if you will work on theoretical or empirical researches of macroeconomics (business cycles, monetary economics, economic growth, macro-finance), international (intra-national, or regional) trade, and/or international finance/ international macroeconomics.

• Master's thesis

  • if you want to find a thesis adviser just for Master's degree, I can supervise you as long as you take all of the core courses (Micro, macro and metrics).

• PhD thesis

  • I supervise (as a main adviser) for PhD only if

    • your grades for the core courses are straight A or higher, and

    • your master's thesis or another draft paper has the potential to be published at a refereed journal.

• I very strongly encourage you to talk about your research with other professors (even) if your main adviser is me.

• I always welcome to talk about your research (even) if your main adviser is not me. Please drop-in my office.
