The storyboard:
The school premises, "960 Cobb Lines," belonged to the family of Mr. Muhammad Iqbal. After the death of his wife, Mrs. Khurshid Iqbal, the family house was dedicated to the cause of providing quality education to the under privileged children of the area. Formal education started in 2004 with 20 students and 3 teachers.
2004 - Iqbal Foundation School founded at 960 Cobb Lines.
2005 - With our first batch of students and teachers, we laid out a model montessori education curricula, with play aided learning and interactive classroom sessions.
2006 - We moved up in the level of classes, added more staff, and adopted the Punjab text board syllabus. We also acquired modern furniture for the school.
2007 - We started our health care programme with the help of the Railway Hospital. Our students are given a complete medical checkup on a quarterly basis and are also screened for any infectious diseases, like hepatitis.
2008 - We held our first annual Parent's Day. Position holders were given trophies and the rest of the students were given story books, true to our tradition of encouraging reading in children. We also held a number of teacher training workshops for the staff.
2009 - We started computer classes for our students to familiarize them with the basics of the Internet. We started a debating society to teach our students the etiquette of public speaking and to help them gain confidence.
We also started a poverty alleviation programme for the families of our students. Small loans are made available to the students' families for their economic uplift. This programme is carried out with the help of the Akhuwat Foundation - a nonprofit micro financing organization.
2010 - We have started a summer programme for the students with classes in spoken English, art, and library and story book hour. The school is always looking to incorporate new and innovative teaching techniques to make learning more effective. Right now children are learning and improving their vocabulary through creative educational games held once a week.
We have also introduced adult literacy classes for women. The classes are held six times a week, and special faculty has been hired for the evening classes. Some of the women are determined to complete their matriculation.
Along with the adult literacy classes, the women also take a vocational training class and a Quranic class.
We have also started evening classes for weak students. These classes are held daily and are free of cost.
2011 - In February the school took part in Safeguard's new initiative to promote personal hygiene among children. A team from Safeguard visited the school and talked to the children about the importance of cleanliness. The students also performed a variety show to highlight the importance of clean, hygienic practices.
A workshop for teachers was also held in February. In the day long event, teachers learnt better teaching practices and were given new tools to help them engage students in the classroom.
Basic healthcare facilities were made available on school premises for students and their mothers. A doctor visits once a week for free medical consultation.
2016 - The school's owners decided to expand the school to matriculation for their female students. To accommodate the new student body, construction work began to add more classrooms.
2017 - Construction work ended early in the year. As a result of which, we now have, along with new classrooms, an extensive library and and a computer lab. The library boasts more than 1000 books and regular IT classes are held in the computer lab.
Entrance examination was held for the new classes, 7 and 8, increasing our student population to over 180 students.
Aims and Goals..

The foundation goes beyond classroom education by providing health care (through the Railway Hospital Rawalpindi and Mustafa Trust Hospital) and micro-finance facilities (through the Akhuwat Foundation) for the people of the community. The goal is to make a tangible change in people's lives through education, health care, and financing opportunities.
