While we do not assume the authority to issue ranks, we do register ranks that our teacher members send to us. Only a teaching professional who is a member of the International Association of Professional Martial Artists can request that we register and publish a student's rank, a service we provide to teachers free of charge. Once the teacher confirms that the student has earned the specified rank, that information is registered with the International Association of Professional Martial Artists.
It is important to note the following:
The student must be a Student Member of the International Association of Professional Martial Artists. The student can either be enrolled before the rank is submitted, or may be enrolled at the time the first rank is submitted.
It is always the teacher who has awarded and certified the rank, and it is registered, with the teacher's permission, with International Association of Professional Martial Artists.
International Association of Professional Martial Artists does not issue ranks and does not assume authority to do so.
If a student tells us they have a rank, International Association of Professional Martial Artists will directly confirm the teacher's approval for the rank before processing the request, which will only be registered once the teacher has been contacted and their intentions have been verified and confirmed.
International Association of Professional Martial Artists registers the rank in its records, indicating the teacher who issued the rank, the date of issuance, and the student who received the rank. If the student is age 18 or older, their information may be posted on the website upon request.
If the teacher would like to issue an International Association of Professional Martial Artists certificate to the student, there are two options: The teacher may either issue their own certificate to the student on behalf of the International Association of Professional Martial Artists, or the association will, for a nominal fee, create and send a certificate to the teacher to present to the student. International Association of Professional Martial Artists will not send certificates directly to students.
