Our town

Gistel is a small town of about 10.000 inhabitants situated at 10 km south from Oostende, and Bruges is 15 km to the right. In Belgium Gistel is know for it's Abbey (of Saint Godelieve), for it's well known cyclers Sylveer Maes and Johan Musseeuw. But for us it's just a quiet and charming little town.

Gistel is just 1 hour by car from Brussels and Antwerp

Take exit 5bis on the E40, then till the traffic lights, turn left direction Gistel-Centrum.

The Ellestraat is at the beginning of the Brugse baan.

Coördinates for Google Earth or GPS: 51°09'25" North and 2° 58'17" East.

You can see our house on the right part of this picture, halfway from the bottom, next/right to the school.

The entranceway to our house is not very large. Unless you have a small car you should take a wide turn to drive in.
