International Tournament qualifying spots for each age group are determined based upon the number of District Tournament participants. A large District tournament field will result in even more junior golfers from the Indiana South District getting the opportunity to experience a truly remarkable International Junior golf event in the future!  Please help us to fill the field by telling other junior golfers about this junior golf experience.  

2024 Qualifying requirements for the Indiana South District Tournament are as follows:

Girls 15-18       Top 8  finishers (max 85 strokes). 

Girls 13-14 *     Top 8  finishers (max 93 strokes).

Girls 10-12 *     Top 3  finishers (max 97 strokes).

Boys 16-18       Top 3  finishers (max 78 strokes).

Boys 14-15 *     Top 8  finishers (max 83 strokes).

Boys 12-13 *     Top 4  finishers (max 90 strokes).

Boys 10-11 *     Top 2  finishers (max 96 strokes).

* Participants may choose to “play up” one division.

 NOTE:  Indiana South District Tournament entrants who do not reside in the Indiana South District (south of Interstate 74 including Indianapolis south of Interstate 465) are welcome to participate as an opportunity to to qualify for the Optimist International Junior  Golf Championships, but are not eligible to receive free or reduced international tournament entry fees (Exception: Entrants north of Indianapolis in Boone and Hamilton Counties will be accepted as "In District" participants because they are served by Optimist Clubs within the Indiana South District.)

If an “Out of District” participant qualifies  within any age group, the next eligible “In District” participant will also qualify.

Indiana South District Tournament Awards

• Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each age division. 

• Age group winners (must shoot a qualifying score) who register for  the 2024 Optimist International Junior Golf Championships will receive a full      ( boys 16-18 & girls 15-18) or partial entry fee reduction from the Indiana South District.

• All other District Tournament participants who qualify for the  2024 Optimist International Junior Golf Championships  are not eligible for an entry fee reduction. (Some local Optimist Clubs often provide some financial assistance upon request.) 

• All players who qualify for the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships must register no later than June 23. This means you will only have nine days to go online and register for the International Tournament if you qualify.
