About GIREPAM

The GIREPAM Project (Integrated Management of Ecological Networks through Parks and Marine Areas) is a three-year project (January 2017-December 2019), co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in relation to the 2014-2020 Interreg Italy – France (Maritime) Programme.

GIREPAM Project aims at defining a cross-border strategy for the integrated management of marine and coastal ecological networks, shared and implemented by Regions and management authorities of parks, marine protected areas and Natura 2000 sites, in order to find solutions to the common problems and challenges related to habitats and species of the Mediterranean coastal marine areas. Effective integrated management of coastal and marine areas may possibly reduce biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation due to overexploitation of resources, pollution, social conflicts and so on.

The Project involves 16 partners belonging to 5 Mediteranean Regions (Sardinia, Liguria, Tuscany, Corsica and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur) including regional administrations, management authorities of parks, marine protected areas and Natura 2000 sites, universities and research bodies.

Further information is available at the GIREPAM Project website (French and Italian version) and at the keep.eu website (English version).
