Course Description
Environmental Science is designed to continue the student investigations that began in grades K-8. These investigations integrate the study of many components of our environment, including the human impact on our planet. Students will investigate the flow of energy and cycling of matter within ecosystems, and evaluate types, availability, allocation, and sustainability of energy resources.
Format
This course is divided into the following topics and the following Standards. There is no End of Course Test (EOC) for Environmental Science. The Georgia Standards of Excellence will be used to measure proficiency. In some cases the chapters listed below will only be covered in part as opposed to their entirety. A Minor Assessment (Labs or Quizzes) will be used to assess each topic, while a Major Assessment (Tests or Projects) will be used to assess each unit. For a more detailed description of the Georgia Performance Standards refer to the Georgia Department of education website: Click HERE
