Personal Message from President Dot

I was a founder member of Reading Maiden Erlegh Inner Wheel club when it formed in 2002. I was keen to be an Inner Wheel member some years before but as the existing clubs met at lunchtime and I was working that was not possible. I was the club’s third president which was enjoyable but pressured. Since then I have held many roles in the club, on District and Association but it is a privilege to be president as we approach our 25th anniversary.

My charities this year are the Autism society and Alzheimer’s, both of which have personal significance for me.

The benefits of belonging to a friendship group, as Inner Wheel is, has never been more apparent than the last three years since I lost my husband. The support has been second to none. Combine this with raising money for charity and helping in the community and we have an organisation that is simply the best.

We always welcome new members at our meetings on the third Thursday of the month. These meetings are always dinner meetings, often have a speaker and are held at Sonning golf club. Please come and join us.
