The following will help you in this process:
Presentations will be evaluated initially by members of an identified cohort.
TECHNICAL:
1. Prepare a professional video presentation of between 7 and 12 minutes.
2. Upload the video to a location to share with the instructor and the class (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo, your SOIS web space, Techsmiths Screencast.com or Camtasia Relay or a similar video presentation technology, etc.). It is your choice to list the presentation as public or private.
3. Submit the URL to the Course Management System. Please test the URL before submission, by logging out (if needed) and going there as a 'new' visitor because your link has to be shareable with the class.
PRESENTATION SKILLS AND ADVICE:
Focus on your presentation skills and how to make a good recording. Test your mic. If the quality is bad, consider using a good cell phone for example to do the recording, then layer the audio over the visual. Camtasia Studio can do a great job with this effort. Key skills to acquire with this assignment is to network (resources and people) to be best able to develop a matured and well reflected analysis and response. Secondly, it is vital to be able to communicate clearly and professionally. In addition to demonstrating your solid cognitive skills of reasoning, be sure your presentation is done with confidence, and an awareness of your audience - to adequately inform them with background facts and insights where needed. Make sure the technical quality of your presentation is good. If the technical quality draws attention to itself, you have an issue. I strongly suggest you do a 30 second mock presentation to test small sample presentations to tweak and eliminate issues.
