Note
All qualification numbers given here are approximate, and may change in the future.
First round
Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC): must be written. It normally takes place in late October.
Olympiad rounds
Asian Pacific Mathematics Olympiad (APMO): the top COMC scorers qualify for the APMO. Around 30 students are invited. It takes place on the second Monday in March.
Canadian Mathematical Olympiad (CMO): the top 50 COMC scorers are directly invited. The next group of 75 students writes the COMC RepĂȘchage, from which another 30 students are invited. It takes place in early March.
Invitation to the CMS Winter Camp also guarantees qualification for both the APMO and the CMO.
Final Round
Canadian IMO team selection test (TST): based on the results of the APMO and the CMO, a group of students will be invited to write a final selection test, taking place in mid April.
IMO Qualification
The IMO team will be chosen based on the results of the most recent CMO, APMO, and TST.
