IMIA Nursing Informatics (IMIA NI) Education Working Group

Welcome to the Education Working Group's web presence. The group is part of the nursing informatics special interest section of IMIA and as such covers all corners of the globe and is here to help you. Nursing informatics, as defined by IMIA NI is:

“Nursing informatics science and practice integrates nursing, its information and knowledge and their management with information and communication technologies to promote the health of people, families and communities worldwide.” (IMIA NI 2011)

With this in mind and the global growth in the use of information and communications technology to support healthcare we are certain that we can help in improving the understanding of nursing informatics and how it impacts on direct patient safety, patient diagnosis decision support, management and audit of care and the emerging delivery/monitoring of care through wearables, nano technologies, genomics, robotics and artificial intelligence/machine learning.

Please have a look around the site, we would particularly draw your attention to the item on Nursing Informatics Leaders where key individuals tell their story about nursing informatics, we are certain that you will find this inspirational.
