11th District Leadership Training

posted Dec 28, 2018, 9:14 PM by Charles Lynch   [ updated Mar 17, 2019, 10:27 AM ]

Now that we are well into the 2018-2019 Membership Year, and as we look to the future of the 11th District, it becomes a top priority to search out, train and support dedicated Legionnaires to become the “Leaders of Tomorrow” within the 11th District.

With that challenge at hand, The Department Leadership Team has developed important useful information that will assist current Post and District Officers that want to take on new and rewarding roles within the American Legion.

This session will include Leadership Seminars for Commanders, Junior & Senior Vice Commanders, Adjutants, and Post Service Officers.  We believe that the future of the American Legion will only progress and be successful with new and effective leaders. Therefore we are asking each Post to bring at least 2 additional Post members and “other seriously interested members”.  These members should be those that you feel will be active leaders within the 11th District.

The Post will be open @ 8:30 am for registration, coffee and donuts.   We will plan to start promptly @ 9am.  An early start is our goal and will insure we keep with-in our time schedule.   We plan to conclude by 2pm with lunch provided by the 2nd Division.  Please confirm back to John Reece, CMDR @ j.b.reece988@gmail.com or call him @ 847-975-9643 with the number of people from your post attending by March 20th so we can plan accordingly.  Our target is a minimum of 60 people in attendance.  If you are unable to RSVP you are still welcome to attend the Seminar although we do encourage your advance RSVP.

For any updates regarding this event please refer to the District website @ www.district11.org  or our Facebook page @ IL American Legion 11th District.

Attendees will have the unique opportunity to succeed; to become a positive and effective leader; and to preserve our great organization and our programs committed to our Active Duty; Our Veterans; Our Youth; and Our Communities.  Join us in this very special and unique opportunity, it is our future.
