Advancing biomaterials and biofabrication technologies to engineer medical devices, regenerate tissues, and create disease models for healthcare translation
The Biomaterials & Tissue Engineering Laboratory at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), led by Prof. Kaushik Chatterjee, is part of the Department of Materials Engineering and the Department of Bioengineering. Our laboratory is designated as a Collaborating Centre of Excellence (CCoE) of the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR).
Our research interests lie at the interface of materials technologies and healthcare. Our multidisciplinary team works to translate and commercialize technologies developed in our group.
Current research focus:
Medical Implants • Regenerative Biomaterials • 3D/4D Bioprinting • Cancer & Disease Models • Smart Biomaterials • Clinical Translation
