Evaluation & Assessments
Mental Health Professionals provide the evaluation, assessment, amelioration, treatment, modification, or adjustment to a disability, problem, or disorder of behavior, character, development, emotion, personality or relationships by the use of verbal or behavioral methods with individuals, couples, families; and the use of assessment instruments and mental health counseling and psychotherapy to identify, evaluate and treat dysfunctions and disorders for purposes of providing appropriate mental health counseling services (NYS Law Article 163, Mental Health Practitioners).
Individual Psychotherapy & Mental Health Counseling
The primary goals of mental wellness and psychotherapy within an interdisciplinary approach are to explore and to support a framework for understanding the person's (Un)Conscious experiences that are contributing to thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Our approach is within the following main theoretical frameworks and practice-based orientations: Psychological Talmudic Halacha, Art, Cultural Studies, Mentalization-Based Therapy, Psychodynamic & Cognitive Theory, and Philosophy.
Group Psychotherapy
Our groups generally are comprised of 6-10 individuals and are typically led by one or two licensed mental health professionals. Groups meet for 1 hour and 15 minutes every week. Groups address eating disorders, bereavement, anxiety, stress management, and general therapy concerns. There is no limit on the number of group sessions.
Workshops & Seminars
Many issues and areas of growth may be effectively explored outside of the counseling office. Our professionals can present/facilitate workshops and seminars pertinent to mental health counseling and can include anything from depression to anxiety, stress, and anger management. Workshops and seminars can also be tailored to particular needs/interests. Workshop and seminars should be requested at least 2 weeks prior to date of interest.
Professional Consultation
We offer consultation services by licensed staff to assist other mental health professionals, school administrators, and College/University graduate students within the fields of mental health counseling and teaching preparation programs.
Professional Supervised Experience
We offer mental health graduate students the opportunity to complete a minimum of 3000 hours of post-master’s supervised experience relevant to the practice of mental health counseling and psychotherapy.
Tikun Project
