Ignacio Aravena Solís

Postdoctoral Researcher at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL)

I'm a postdoctoral researcher at the Computational Engineering Division of LLNL under the supervision of Dr Deepak Rajan. Our current research focuses on developing optimization models and algorithms to improve power systems' resilience. My research interests include energy optimization, renewable energy integration in power systems, stochastic and robust programming, and distributed optimization.

I conducted my doctoral work at the Center for Operations Research and Econometrics (CORE) of the Université catholique de Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium), under the supervision of Professor Anthony Papavasiliou. Formerly, I completed bachelor and master degrees in Electrical Engineering at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (UTFSM) (Valparaíso, Chile), where later I served as research assistant, consultant and lecturer. My research work at UTFSM was guided by Professor Esteban Gil.

I have also worked as an Optimization Specialist at ENEL Generación and served as a consultant for Powel AS.
