Behind the Scenes

Jack Burke is the captain of the mens soccer team. Jack is studying applied business entrepreneurship, currently in 3rd year.

"Playing for the mens team for three years has giving us the idea of setting up a womens' football team. I have past experience in managing teams. I have managed teams in Mini World Cups and I was coaching a boys under 12 team at Mount Merrion Youths fc. I have also coached in summer camps with Mount Merrion."

David Harris has played on the mens soccer team since arriving in IADT in 2016. Alike Jack, David is studying applied business entrepreneurship, and is currently in 3rd year.

"Having played sports my whole life I find it easy to communicate with different people. Sports is not just a way of getting active but also a way of socializing with new people. I found it very strange their has never been a womens' team in IADT. With the help of Dean and Jack, we decided to use our knowledge from playing on the mens team over the past few years to set up the first womens' team in IADT."

Dean Hutchinson has played on the mens team for the past four years. Dean is studying applied business entrepreneurship in IADT.

"after playing for the mens team for four years I have gained multiple skills. Playing football within the college gave me a lot of great opportunities to meet new people. We came up with this idea to give girls in the college the same opportunities that we were so lucky to have."
