Credentials

Dr. Zinzow is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of South Carolina. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Duke University in 1998. She received her Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia in 2005. She then completed a predoctoral internship at the Medical University of South Carolina/Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Consortium in 2006. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2007 from the University of Georgia, a nationally-recognized scientist-practitioner program. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina, National Crime Victims Research & Treatment Center in 2008. Dr. Zinzow accepted a position as an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at Clemson University in 2008. She was promoted to the tenured position of Associate Professor in the Psychology Department at Clemson University in 2014, and to Full Professor in 2020. She is an active member of Clemson University's Sexual Violence Task Force, and is the Co-founder of Clemson University's Suicide Prevention program. She currently serves as faculty adviser for the Clemson Psychology Club. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association, Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Dr. Zinzow has extensive experience treating anxiety and mood disorders in a variety of settings, including outpatient therapy clinics, sexual assault and domestic violence centers, veterans affairs hospitals, universities, and assessment centers. She has worked with clients from a variety of racial/ethnic, gender identity, and economic backgrounds, as well as a wide range of ages. She also conducts research on trauma and mental health and has authored over 50 publications in scientific journals.
