This flexible, self-paced online program helps future paraprofessionals prepare for the ParaEducator Online Exam, a key requirement for working directly with students in reading, writing, and math. Participants will review core academic skills, complete practice activities, and receive support to build confidence for the test. Successful completion of this exam leads to the Highly Qualified Certificate needed to meet state and federal guidelines for paraprofessionals working in Minnesota.
Students are given a ParaEducator Online Training learner account, which remains active for one year after it is created. They complete self-paced learning modules and meet 1:1 with the instructor as needed. Additional synchronous Zoom classes are available 9 -11 am Tuesdays/Thursdays to cover key test prep topics. This option is recommended for individuals who are currently employed by a school or have prior experience—or strong confidence—working with children.
