Standard Adult High School Diploma: In 2014 the Minnesota legislature approved a new, competency-based option for adults to obtain a secondary credential. Hutchinson Adult Education offers the Adult High School Diploma for students. Students pursuing an Adult Diploma will develop a portfolio of materials to prove that they have competency in 5 areas:
English Language Arts
Mathematics
Science
Social Studies
Career and Employability Skills
There are many ways to show competencies: previously earned high school credits, applied and experiential learning, Adult Education coursework, test scores, college courses.
