Hulett Electric and Father (HEF) is located in the town of Shaftsbury, Vermont. Shaftsbury, with a population of approximately 3600, is located 8 miles north of Bennington (a town of 15,700) in Bennington County.
Hulett Electric and Father has been in operation since July 1994 – opened by Benjamin Hulett after he took over the electrical contracting business upon the semi-retirement of his father, also Ben Hulett. The business focuses on residential, commercial and light industrial customers. The business is a sole proprietorship which now has 1 full-time employee – a master electrician, licensed in the state of Vermont.
As a third generation electrical contractor and seventh generation Shaftsbury resident, community is very important to the Hulett family. HEF owners have been involved in community service as Cub Scout and Boy Scout leaders, landfill committee member, school board member, justice of the peace, town agent, energy coordinator, Shaftsbury 250 committee, first constable, participating in building the new elementary school playground, Little League and soccer coaches, donating electrical work (man hours) to the town, school, a local food shelf, Little League, and more.
Through the years, the community has moved away from its agricultural roots toward a more rural/suburban community with fewer farms and more homes. The community has mandatory recycling and HEF has been a leader as a green company, assisting customers in reducing their carbon footprint, recycling everything possible with very little waste material entering the landfill. HEF has been at the forefront of green technologies including solar, geothermal and wind alternative power systems.
It is the mission of Hulett Electric and Father to provide customer satisfaction through installation, implementation and maintenance of electrical equipment in a timely manner. We are committed to enhancing quality of life at an affordable cost while following local, state and national electrical codes.
