GED Evening Class Information

The Reading for ASP/GED/College 3 evening class at the Hubbs Center offers adult learners an opportunity to prepare for the GED exams and/or prepare for post-secondary education. It includes teacher-led instruction, individual practice, and group work.

Our primary goal is to improve reading and writing skills. We also work to increase background knowledge in social studies and science. Many of the reading passages will have a social studies or science focus.

Specific content includes but is not limited to:

    • reading strategies
    • exposure to nonfiction and fiction texts
    • academic vocabulary
    • grammar
    • essay writing practice
    • test-taking strategies
    • GED and Accuplacer practice tests

The skills covered in this class will help learners prepare for 3 of the 4 GED tests:

Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA)

Social Studies
