For my English Component I decided I wanted to keep a diary/journal
August 2013- Selected my PBL project (Double Ball Bounce):
I searched through lots of Physic topics and project my physics teacher provided for us. I decided on the double ball bounce because it sounded like the most interesting one and it caught my eye while I was browsing through the topics. And it also made me curious to why a smaller ball was able to go out of control once bounced onto a bigger ball.
August 2013- Gathered materials and created my website:
I first created a new gmail account just for my PBL. I had to go to my Physics teacher so I could gather all my supplies that I need for my project(Double Ball Bounce). Which included several different ball sizes, and goggles. He had all the materials except the basketball and tennis ball which I got from the gym.
September/October 2013- ELA and Social Studies Component:
For my ELA component I picked the method which is to keep a diary which keeps track of everything I did and experienced during my project. For my Social Studies component I researched the impact of Newton 3rd law on how we have developed safer laws on cars in case of collision in a moving vehicle. Look at the history of the laws and how it has affected the citizens.
November 2013- Created my "About my school" and "PBL project" page:
I created my "about my school" page about Harmony Public Schools. I posted videos about harmony and put links to there Facebook, YouTube, and website page. For my "PBL project" page I posted more in depth information about my project also posted pictures of my materials and a action video of my project which is on YouTube.
January 2014- Created my PBL video:
I came to my Physic teacher lab to film my video, he had a camera and he helped my film my video. I used Windows Move Maker to put my video together. I put pictures of my materials and talked about my ELA and Social Studies component. I also added music in the background. After I was done I uploaded my video to my YouTube page and then linked it to my "home page" on my website
February 2014- Created PBL brochure:
The last and final step of my PBL project was to create a brochure. I used my website to help me create my brochure. My brochure just summarizes my project and it talks about how my project works and what is the science behind it. Also in my brochure I provide bar-codes for quick access to my project YouTube video and my PBL website. After I was done I saved it my website.
