Steinway Artist Hsing-ay Hsu is a prize-winning performer, former U of CO faculty, Conscious Listening™ creator/producer, owner of Nutmeg Studio for adults, contributor at Psychology Today, and an alum of Juilliard and Yale. She works at the intersection of music, creativity, and whole-brain artistic intelligence through her original framework for the art of listening.
Mission
As a Steinway Artist, a music educator and owner of Nutmeg Studio NYC, and creator of Conscious Listening™ seminars, I heighten awareness through music's many dimensions and cultivate a culture of listening through the lens of classical piano music.
What
I create joyful, personal, and multidimensional experiences of Western classical music extending from its core repertoire into contemporary, early music, and interdisciplinary projects: pairings with theater, dance, art, and other inquisitive disciplines.
Why
Amidst the cacophony of our world, the art of listening is a much needed pathway forward to cohesion, deep communication, and collaboration. Participants use their listening training to develop a personal relationship with the music, others, and themselves.
