Description of Club Goals:
Student Council is an organization of students and faculty moderator that work for the general welfare of the school by promoting school morale, spirit and cooperation between the student body, the faculty and administration. The Student Council gets involved in their school and community in a variety of ways. It also trains and encourages our students to be young leaders.

Number of Meetings/Year: 25+
Frequency of Meetings: about 2-3 a month (depends on activities we are planning)
Dues: none
When Meetings Occur:
General Meetings are held at night once a month.
Committee meetings are held after school.
Time and Length of Meetings: about 45 minutes
Expected Commitment of Members:
In order to be considered an active member of student council, you must accumulate 5 points for prior to check point.
Check point days are: December 1, 2025
March 1, 2026
June 1, 2026
In addition to our records, we recommend that you keep track of your points to make sure that you have enough for each checkpoint.
Points cannot be carried over from checkpoint to checkpoint. For example, if you accumulate 10 points by December 1, you must still earn an additional five points for the February checkpoint.
A member needs at least 20 points in order to run for an officer position for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates are required to complete an application with essay. In addition, candidates must give a speech at the May meeting. Positions will be awarded based on points and votes.
How to earn points:
Attending a general meeting = 1 point
Attending a committee meeting = 1 point
Attending an after school student council event = 1 point
If you head a committee = 3 points
Student Council related activity = determined by the advisor
