Option Number One- Historical Connection

My project, at its core, is about alternative current and its electromagnetic field. This because my project involves the use of a plasma ball. A plasma ball is just a small Tesla coil in a crystal ball filled with several noble gases.The invention alternative energy by Nikola Tesla helped shape the world as we know it. When electricity was at its infancy, on e of the greatest issues was how to transmit power over long distances. Direct current lost much of its power over long distances, and its copper wiring was costly. Direct current works by energy flowing in a single direction between positive and negative terminals. Alternating current did not lose any of its power over long distances and its transmission lines were much cheaper. Alternating current works by reversing the direction of a current a certain number of times every second. The amount of times can be either sixty, as in the United States, or fifty, as in Europe In the end, alternating current triumphed over direct current and is now what brings power to the majority of the houses in the United States. This invention is what allows to live as we do today. It is such an essential part of our lives that we never actually think that if such a system were never invented, it would have been much harder to transmit power to new settlements. This would also make electricity something for the wealthy, as it would be much more expensive than it is now. Our social structure may have changed because of alternating current. It had such profound influence on the world that it would be hard to say what would have happened had we been stuck with Edison's direct current.
