Light Bending was influenced by quantum mechanics, which is the structure and behavior of molecules and atoms. Also in 1979 by Michael Berry and Nandor Balazs realized "that the Schrödinger equation could support "Airy" wave packets of particles, which accelerate without an external force."
Einstein's Theory of Relativity said if space was really deformed by gravity, after that the light passing into it will not proceed as a linear line, instead it would have a curved path. The more powerful force of gravity, the further the light will bend. The bending will be greater for the light passing really close to an extremely massive body, like the Sun. This hypothesis was tested by Arthur Stanley Eddington.
