The Dropper Popper 2014 Journal
September 1st, 2013:
This was the day of Introducing STEM, Google Science Fair, and Regional Science Fair, and we had to chose which one we wanted to do. It was a tough decision, but I picked STEM because it sounded interesting and really fun.
September 8th, 2013:
For the choosing of my STEM project, I narrowed my choices down to the Dropper Popper, or the Double ball Bounce. It took my a day or two to finally decide which project I wanted to demonstrate, which the project I chose was the Dropper Popper. It seemed like a great project to experiment with, to demonstrate to others, and to learn the cool scientific principles.
September 27th, 2013:
This was the day I got to start working with my project! I was so excited that I couldn't stop thinking about it. I learned how it worked and what scientific principles were behind the Dropper Popper. Like Conservation of Energy and Elastic Potential Energy.
October 11th, 2013 :
On this day I started working on my Google STEM Site, with my "About My School" page. Also creating my ELA and Social studies pages too, which my ELA page (which is this page of course) is a journal that describes all aspects of my project and keeps up to date with it; and my Social Studies page is about a historical connection with the Dropper Popper, and about the history of the scientific principles.
October 25th, 2013:
This day was the day I recorded my Action movie for my website, I was surprised at how easy and simple it was; but I was eager for the presentation video. So I can fully demonstrate how cool the dropper popper is.
November 8th, 2013:
Today I was constructing my "My PBL Project" page, I thought it was going to be pretty simple, but it wasn't till i got my hands into it. I explained the scientific principles, talked about on how to use the experiment, and had follow up study and investigation questions. All of this to thoroughly explain the Dropper Popper.
November 14th, 2013:
On this day I started writing my script for the big presentation video! I was really excited to do this so I can finally record my big presentation video! When I first approached writing the script, I had no clue what to write. So after some brainstorming, I finally completed my script!
December 2nd, 2013:
Today was the day I made my big presentation video! I didn't want to talk in front of a camera in my video, so I recorded my voice in the background, which I liked better. While I enjoyed doing the video and had fun with it, I was quite nervous at first and messed up several times, but after a while, I got the hang of it and finished it. It was really exhilarating!
January 26th, 2014:
After a nice 2 week break, it was time to go back to work. I was creating my brochure on this day, at first I couldn't get the right format I wanted, and I had trouble getting my pictures and qr codes on, but then with some help, I successfully accomplished it!
February 20th, 2014:
This was the day I was studying for the STEM fair, so I would be able to answer any questions people would ask me and demonstrate my project effectively. It was mainly review, since I already studied this stuff a while back, so it wasn't that hard at all. In fact, I'm glad I did review because I forgot only a couple of things about the Dropper Popper.
