The reason that I am doing Road Trips for my PBL is because I already have background information with road trips. This means that I have a general concept of about how long it will take, and how much it will cost to go on a road trip. I also have an idea of what you normally have to do when you are on a road trip. Though I was generally younger when I went on the road trips, I am still able to ask my father how much it usually costs for hotels if needed, along with gas and food prices.

The reason that I chose a Narrative Essay is because it will best show my experiences that I have with Road Trips. From a young age I have gone on road trips with my family and friends. Since then I have always wondered why we take a certain route from point A to point B. It intrigued me that when my father used the GPS system he always added filters into our route details. He would instruct the GPS to "Take highways when possible" or "Avoid tolls." I had always wondered why he would take certain routes like this.

With this project, I will use mathematical equations to find the cost of a road trip from Los Angeles, California to New York, New York. Generally, a trip from L.A. to New York would cost a large amount of money due to the fact that we would have to account for hotels, gas and food. My aim is to try to find the cheapest route
