Introduction
The Resonance Bowl dates back to Pre-History during the Han Dynasty in China (202 BCE-9CE). This "Chinese Sprouting Bowl" would create a variety off beats that would then allow "songs" to be preformed for the Chinese to soothe themselves, as well as providing them a bit of motivation to have some entertainment with them when accomplishing some of the interesting work, such as Physics. Today, the Resonance Bowl is composed simply of water, the bowl itself, and motion from the hands to create waves of "songs."
The Principles...
Waves
.As the motion through the hands is pushed on the golden handles, a force will exert the water to sway back and forth, creating a motion of waves.
-The more force that your hands will apply to the golden handles, the more force will be exerted onto the water to creates waves and will begin to make the water fly out of the bowl as if they are popping.
. A Resonance Bowl
. Water (Amount in the bowl is decided by the person)
. Rubbing Alcohol
. Hand Soap
. Paper towel or tissues
Steps
1. Fill the Resonance Bowl up with water. The amount of water depends on the person.
2. Pour some rubbing alcohol onto paper towels or tissues and wipe the golden handles of the Resonance Bowl.
3. Wash hands thoroughly with hand soap.
4. Dip your hands into the Resonance Bowl and begin rubbing the golden handles and watch the waves and water fly!
-The more you rub the golden handles, the more the water will fly and the more waves will be seen.
Materials
The rubbing alcohol will cause some minor to major burns and rashes to the skin. Please avoid skin contact with rubbing alcohol at your discretion.
SAFETY!
Frequency
.With the force of the motion of hands on the golden handles, waves will appear. The more force that the hands apply, the smaller the waves will be, but the frequency (which is measured in hertz) will be bigger. The less force that the hands apply on the golden handles, the bigger the waves will be when it forms, but the frequency will be smaller.
