Here you will find an explanation of some key terms at HOL.
AOP/Operator/op: Responsible for overseeing an IRC channel, keeping the peace and ensuring everyone follows the rules. A person with an @ sign or a star in front of their name on chat.
Beans: Used as currency in HOL.
Class Assistant: Helps a Professor or Student Teacher with grading the work that comes in for their class(es).
Deputy Head of House (DHoH): Responsible for overseeing their House and assisting the Head of House as needed.
Groundskeeper: Responsible for maintaining the HOL website.

Head of House (HoH): Responsible for overseeing their House.
Head Office (HO): Composed of the Headmaster/Headmistress and Deputy Headmasters/Headmistresses, this group generally works behind the scenes to ensure the smooth-running of the community.
House Points: Can be earned in several ways, including by taking classes. HOL has its very own House Cup, which the four Houses compete against each other to win.
IRC: Short for Internet Relay Chat. You'll need to use a web-based app or an IRC client in order to access the various HOL channels.
Quill: Awarded for passing the minimum requirements of a class. Two quills are required in order to graduate from one year to the next.
Post Grads: People who have gone through all 7 years of HOL and who decided not to become Professors.
Prefects: Students who are there to help with any concerns or questions you might have. They should usually be approached first.
Professors: People who teach classes, but are no longer Students.
Student Teacher: People who teach classes, but are not yet Professors.
