Howard Theatre is always looking for parents to be involved and part of the community. Parents will have ample opportunity to help with set building and breakdown (carpenters, painters, artists) or to help with costumes (sewers, fashion enthusiasts, awesome thrift shoppers) and program builders (fund raisers, advocates, networkers). Theatre is a community based artform, so it really takes the entire community to be successful. in the words of Todd Gleason, we FEIN for our parent volunteers! All volunteers will receive 1 free ticket for their time.
Below are positions that Howard Theater is always looking to fill.
Set Builders:
The set builder positions are one that is always fun to be in! It is a low commitment and you get a special behind the scenes preview during rehearsals! Most work is done during rehearsals (3:00-5:00) or on Saturday tech rehearsals (9:00AM-4:00PM). Please reach out to the historian or Mr. Canuelle with any questions because set builders often say "I hope they play fein, oh wait this is set building!" -Todd Gleeson
Concessions for shows:
Again, this is a very low commitment but a very needed one! This position only applies to show days. Howard Theater needs people who are able to follow sanitary protocol and sell various concessions before and during shows.
Ticket volunteers!
Howard theater uses hcpss.booktix.com to sell a large majority of their tickets, but we also frequently have people come in who are looking to pay for tickets with cash. Volunteers are asked to sell tickets before shows, handling cash and answering questions as needed.
Please please please reach out to Mr. Canuelle if you are interested in joining the Howard Theater family! All help is greatly appreciated. Please also reach out if you are interested in supporting our theater in any other form.
