Step Two: Buy Weapon and Armor
In order to fight, you need a weapon (which you can buy at Olivander’s Wand Shop) and armor (Madam Malkin’s) Buy a broom as soon as you can, they give you positive buffs.

You may find that Peeves has stolen your weapon! Luckily you are able to get a discount when you go to buy it again.
Before you go into the forest, take a moment and deposit all of your gold into Gringotts Bank, located in all cities, except for Hogwarts.
You could also use Goblin Banking which will deposit your gold into your Gringotts account for a small fee in the forest.. You must not be in debt.
