Project Title: Identification of genes containing DNA-triplex forming large (purine) repeats in human genome and their application as therapeutic targets in various disorders.

Designation: Research Scholar

Organization: All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India

Duration: Sept 2011- Nov 2016

Summary: The Research work was focused on the human genome analysis to identify purine repeats and find its role in the genome integrity as well as disease pathogenesis. Further, various ligands were investigated for their capacity to destabilize DNA-triplex. DNA-triplex with triplets (G*GC) and (A*AT) were modeled in-silico and performed docking study to screen the best drug candidate which was further validated by biophysical approaches. In addition, we developed the software entitled “nTrackAnnotator” to identify and annotate low complexity regions present in the genome.
