For Graduate Students
We are looking for outstanding Postgraduate Students (with fluent English (IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 80 and above), excellent academic record (GPA 85/100 and above for Master's degree students, or first class honor for undergraduate degree students), great motivation and strong research background) to join the LY Research Lab. Candidates with SCI-listed publications and degrees from good universities are preferred. Researchers within the group will be exposed to diverse chemical, physical and materials science research, especially in 2D-layered materials field at our laboratory in the Department of Chemistry, Center of Super-Diamond and Advanced films (COSDAF).

Candidates who meet the basic requirements of Graduate school of City University of Hong Kong and the department of Chemistry can apply. We encourage and support bright PhD applicants to apply for their own support. Eligible PhD candidates may apply for Hong Kong PhD Fellowship scheme, which provides an annual stipend of HK$319,200 (approximately US$41,000), a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$13,300 (approximately US$1,700) per year to each awardee for a period of up to three years, and an additional entrance scholarship of HK$81,000 (approximately US$10,300) covering tuition and on-campus hostel accommodation fees for the first year of studies. The deadline for application is Dec 1st each year.
Applications received after the deadline can also be considered subject to the availability of student places.

Highly competent and enthusiastic Master/MSc students in Chemistry, Materials Sciences, Energy Science, or related fields are welcome. Having experience in 1. water treatment; 2. environmental science; 3. optical measurement will have higher priority.
