In year 12 they study for 2 of the exams:
Unit 1: (Y107) England 1547-1603: The Later Tudors, with an enquiry topic on the Mid Tudor Crises of 1547-1558. This is assessed through an exam at the end of year 13, which is worth 25% of the final mark and is 1 hour 30 minutes.
Unit 2: (Y222) Cold War in Asia 1945-1993. This is assessed through an exam at the end of year 13 which is worth 15% of the final mark, and is 1 hour.
In year 13 they study for the unit 3 exam and complete the coursework unit.
Unit 3: (Y318) Russia and its Rulers 1855-1964. This is assessed through an exam at the end of year 13 which is worth 40% of the final mark and is 2 hours 30 minutes.
Coursework: (Y100) This is an independent study where the topics and questions are decided by the students with guidance and support from their coursework teacher. This is marked by their teacher then externally moderated. The deadline is late March, and it is worth 20% of the total mark.
