Alice’s Restaurant is a family owned unique spot among the redwoods frequented by families, hikers, motorcyclists, Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, musicians, locals, and now the Hillsborough Chapter of La Chaine des Rotisseurs! The building dates back to the early 1900’s as a general store to serve the lucrative lumber industry, becoming a restaurant in the 1950’s. It was purchased by Alice Taylor and became Alice’s Restaurant. (Arlo Guthrie’s song of the same name also played a part.) The restaurant changed hands in the 1970’s and has been family owned and operated since then.
Fogarty Winery paired the wines. Tommy Fogarty, owner/manager and son of founder Dr. Thomas Fogarty, and Nathan Kandler, winemaker, spoke about their award winning wines mostly sourced from the Santa Cruz Mountain area.
