Forty Three members and guests joined together on Saturday evening June 11, 2022 to enjoy modern Italian Cuisine and Wine of Lombardia. Chef Donato Scotti prepared fabulous dishes from his beloved homeland. Attendees included Hillsborough Bailliage, and neighboring San Francisco, Silicon Valley and Sacramento Bailliages.

The Venue

Donato’s Enoteca is a beautifully designed modern restaurant with rustic accents, where we dined in the private wine room reserved for his renowned wine-tasting dinners, which are famous throughout our Bailliage’s area.

The Chef

Executive Chef Owner Donato Scotti, motivated by his passion for authentic Italian Cuisine from Northern Italy, where he was brought up, in the City of Bergamo. Before Chef Donato moved to California, he worked in Michelin-starred Italian restaurants. Upon coming to the Bay Area, he focused his culinary skills and passion to serving cuisine using fresh, simple ingredients in inventive ways to highlight and celebrate the region of Italy from which he came.

The Wines

Ca del Bosco Franciacorta

'Cuvee Prestige' Franciacorta is a wine appellation east of Bergamo and, according to Forbes, is producing the best sparkling wines in Italy.

Ca dei Frati Lugana 'I Frati'

This is a dry white wine made from grapes typically grown in Marche on the east coast south of Veneto.

Tenuta Mazzolino Pinot Nero 'Noir'

Pino Nero is the Italian name for Pinot Noir.

Sandro Fay Valtellina Superiore Sforzato 'Ronco del Picchio'

This wine is made from the Nebbiolo grape, grown extensively in Piemonte, a Barolo.
