Noah Griffin
Multi-talented Noah Griffin Jr. has had a many-faceted career: historian, writer, newspaper columnist, radio and television talk show host, law editor, press secretary, campaign manager, lyricist, and vocalist was student body president at George Washington High and became the first black athlete to letter in tennis in San. Francisco’s. high school sports program.
While spending nearly four decades in government and politics in and around San Francisco, Griffin continued his first love of singing at the Venetian Room, Fairmont Hotel, the legendary Purple Onion, and other notable venues. He founded the Cole Porter Society, a group that is dedicated to keeping the Great American Songbook alive for future generations.
Deborah Winters
Winters steps out with a unique vocal hybrid that breaths new life into old classics and stretches out an infectious lyrical style that is captivating and fresh. As is often said, "old school" is becoming "new cool." What Holiday Party and INDUCTION GALA
Where GREEN HILLS COUNTRY CLUB
550 LUDEMAN LANE
MILLBRAE, CA
6:00 PM Reception
6:45 PM INDUCTION
7:15 PM DINNER
8:30 PM SHOWTIME
At long last we will hold our Black Tie Induction and Holiday Gala Dinner that has taken two years to produce due to “you-know-what”. We have unanimously agreed to revisit Green Hills Country Club, site of our Bailliage’s most successful 50th Golden Jubilee in 2019.
Vice Conseiller Gastronomique Claudia Smay, Vice Echanson Bruce Bastl, and I have met with Executive Chef David Sidoti, who has joined our Bailliage during the past year and will be inducted, along with the many other candidates who have been patiently waiting for the formalities.
Showtime presents our friend, multi-talented Noah Griffin who demonstrated an early love of music and by the time he was twelve had shared the stage with Paul Robeson, Leontyne Price, Johnny Ray, Nat “King” Cole, and performed in Carmen, Turandot, and Boris Godunov.
A lifelong resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, Deborah Winters' childhood was immersed in music and dance. As her musical palate expanded to include jazz standards and contemporary musical forms, Deborah began to perform in San Francisco and establish musical alliances with some of the Bay area’s most highly acclaimed performers. This evening’s show is accompanied by Ross Gualco on keyboard, Joe McKinley on bass, and Akira Tana on drums
