NOTE ON THE VALUE OF PHILOSOPHY

The study of philosophy can (and should) make us better persons. It allows us to develop important practical skills, like distinguishing good from bad sorts of evidence. It requires us to cultivate important attitudes, like a willingness to critically examine our own beliefs while remaining open-minded about the beliefs of others. Also, it's fun!
