HIGHWAYS HILLWALKING CLUB EDINBURGH
The Highways Hillwalking Club produces a Newsletter every month that is sent to members by email (for the few without access to email we will exceptionally send a hard printed copy). The Newsletter has information about next month's walk along with short accounts of the previous month's walk and other information of interest.

August 2026
It's the western Grampians we are heading for from the final destination of Auchlean where you can tackle the delights of the glen or venture higher to the munros on the top plateau or maybe even a Corbett.
July 2026
It one of those glens that epitomises the essence of the highlands - Glen Etive. Stretching from the iconic Glencoe down to the northern shores of Loch Etive with extensive views beyond. The summits beckon you but so do low level walks in the glen or along the shoreline of the loch.
June 2026
Meteorlogical Summer has officially begun and this month we are off to the lovely Glen Lyon. With a couple of Munros, half a dozen Corbetts and a Graham on offer there's lots of choice plus the possiblility of a lovely circular loch walk.
May 2026
Our May weekend is based at Ratagan hostel one of the most picturesque locations in our walking calendar with a myriad of choice for hill, long distance and low level walks.
April 2026
We are off to Laggan and Garva Bridge this month to the hills at the end of the Monadhliath range. If your aim is a Munro, Corbett, Graham or low level they are all available here.
March 2026
The first of our 2026 weekends away is to Glen Nevis. What's not to like - the highest mountain in the UK and numerous other challenging peaks in the area to suit all tastes as well as glorious low level routes.
February 2026
It's a while since we visited the final destination targetted this month as we head for Stronachlachar. Access to Ben Lomond and a Corbett plus several Grahams. Lovely area with access to some great trails and low level walks.
January 2026
It's our first walk of the year and we're heading for the Ochil Hills which provides some excellent walking opportunities with the added bonus that we're holding our annual 'high tea' in Dollar afterwards.
December 2025
We're off to the Borders town of Peebles and the nearby hills to Glen Sax this month. A few Donalds plus a Graham and loads of low level walks around rolling hills in the area.
November 2025
Balquhidder is our destination this month so there are a choice of Munros, Corbetts or Grahams that you can choose to tackle as well as some low level options.
October 2025
It's the Angus Glens this month and we are heading for Glen Clova. Some attractive high and low level walks to entice your taste buds.
September 2025
A long weekend away trip over 4 days to Linn O' Dee / Braemar. Munros, Corbetts, even a few Grahams plus a lot of smaller hills with attitude. Mix that with an eclectic mix of low level walks and what's not to like.
