Update on how the school year is moving along and adjustments for COVID-19.

Mr. Vinson provided school updates:
Mask optional in effect on 3/7
All school events will be return to full capacity
The district calendar should be up to date for all end of year events like - Jr Prom, Sr Prom, etc
There was an activity period for students:
Underclassman reviewed course selection process
Seniors had a Town Hall where various upcoming senior events were shared
Email sent about State testing for Juniors:
Juniors normal arrival time
All other classes late arrival
There will be no finals for students this year
Treasurer Update
After Prom:
Chair: Emily Fish
Prize Committee (Emily) - few outstanding items but on schedule
Entertainment Committee (Michelina) - got all entertainment contracts - casino, inflatables, hypnotist, characters and photobooth.
Decoration Committee - had a meeting and divided all the tasks. Everything is on course and within budget.
Food Committee - Jayne Lenzo needs volunteers for this committee. Contact Jayne at JGLRN@msn.com if you can help.
Sign Up Genius (Emily) - A sign up genius will be coming at a later date for additional volunteers to help the day of After Prom with things like set up, security, and clean up.

Jr Prom photos @Association Partk - ~$300 for decorations and water - approved
Pres Ed Update
Faculty Meeting 3/21 show appreciation by providing refreshment ~$200 - approved
May is Staff Appreciation is week of May 2nd - 6th provide items for staff each days ~$2000 - approved (if business fundraising comes up short this will be lowered)
Looking to bring back BINGO fundraiser in the Fall - looking for volunteers to head this committee. Email Ed at hhspapresident@gmail.com if you can help.
Parking spot painting fundraiser - School administration has agreed and might be covering the cost of paint.This would be completed in the summer. Students pay to paint and get an assigned spot.

Senior activities went well

Prom
Ticket sales are going well
Mandatory meeting on Friday 6/3 for Seniors and their prom guests
Seniors will be dismissed after the meeting
6/3 4:15 Promenade in the stadium
Expect traffic
Police will be helping direct traffic
Depends on the weather - but so far forecast looks good
6/3 6pm Prom at Frogbridge until 11pm
Followed by After Prom at HHS
Senior Awards will be on 6/7 in the Stadium
Having it outside due to increase of number of awards being issued and rise in COVID cases
If outside there are no restrictions on guests per student
If it rains the Awards will be moved inside the gym
There will be a 2 guests per family limit if inside
Senior Town Hall on 6/8 to review end of year procedures
National Honor Society Inductions for Juniors 6/8 in the Stadium
Yearbooks will be distributed next week
Seniors have no exams and will follow the district calendar for the rest of the school year
Grades
Senior grades are due on the 13th
Underclassmen grades are due the 15th

Seniors will report directly to graduation - will not go to the school
Due to number of staff that will be at graduation underclassmen will either do asynchronous learning or be in puddle
Seniors report at 9am
Doors open at 10am
Students will be permitted to park in the small parking lot behind the outfield
Parents and guests to park in the main lot or garage
Unlimited number of guests per student allowed
Concessions will be open
Ceremony is estimated to be 1 hour and 45 mins (430 Seniors)
Event will be live streamed
6/20 Seniors report to school at 8am
Drive around back of school

Complete Senior Survey - Required to graduate

Summer School
All summer school will be at the high school due to district construction
Will get a letter if you child need extra support
Summer session also for students interested in Dual Enrollment and AP but are short of benchmarks
6/21 Breaking ground on old Tennis courts
Area to be converted into additional parking
Parking areas will be redesignated in the Fall

Old Heights fundraiser on 5/3 went well
50+ people
Made about $285 and that was matched by another donor
Junior Prom photos at the park went well
Estimated over 100 students were there
The various decorations and props were saved for next year

Some of deco budget went to food since they weren’t provided a budget
Receipts are to be submitted to be reimbursed and help set next years budget
Questions about food allergies
Some cards will be posted to know which locations food came from
Accommodations will be made for parents to drop off food for students with allergies
Business Fund Drive
Over 600 businesses donated for almost $9,000
This is the most ever received and is about 2000 to 3000 over previous years
Business that donated money or food will be in the program and send thank you letters
Monday clean up
The stuff that will be kept will be stored in the shed
Large reusable games and displays that are theme generic will be kept
The Hypnotist and Casino decorations will be kept
Other decorations will be disposed of

Teacher Appreciation was well received
Bagels provided to the teachers and staff
Walmart also donated goods to the staff
