About Mrs. Kroeplin

Hello! My name is Mrs. Alana Kroeplin. Before I was a Pirate I was a Spartan, growing up in the small town of Wessington Springs with my parents and two younger sisters. After graduating from South Dakota State University with a degree in FACS Education I began teaching at Highmore High School in 2008. I am married to Kody Kroeplin and have an 11 year old boy named Kopper, a 9 year old girl named Koral, and a 5 year old named Teal! I enjoy teaching FACS, advising FCCLA and prom, and my hobbies include spending time with my children and their horses!

Significant Accomplishments

Training, Motivating, and Inspiring Peers and/or Students

o FCCLA (Family, Career, Community Leaders of America) Adviser (2008-Current)o Trained, advised, and motivated FCCLA STAR Event (Students Taking Action with Recognition) National Qualifiers - (2008-Current)o FCCLA National Executive Council Adviser. Advised student who ran for and served as the National Vice President of Finance, National Executive Council. – (2010-2011)o District/State Officers – Advised 2 students each year to run for District/State Office. In the five years since I have taught I have advised two state officers and 10 districts officers. - (2008-Current)o South Dakota FCCLA Peer Education Career Team Adviser. Advise a team of 12 students which supports the career aspects of FCCLA. Organize training for three meetings through each year. – (2010-2013)o Presented Workshop at National FCCLA Convention inspiring other FCCLA Advisers to incorporate FCCLA projects into their classrooms – Anaheim, California – (2011)o Advised 6 students who completed the Teens as Teachers nutritional youth education program sponsored by SDSU Extension & the 4-H foundation. Each student received a $500 scholarship. 10 lessons were taught to three elementary grades. - (2011-2012)o Advised 8 students who completed an intergenerational leadership training program with 8 adult members of the community. The group then planned and organized a Community Health Fair. This was in cooperation with SDSU Extension and Hyde County Youth Voices. – (2012-2013)o Trained & advised students who organized and carried out a supper for 50 members of the community. The event served as a fundraiser for a local organization. The students decorated, planned and prepared a meal and entertainment, and cleaned up. (2010-2013)
