Lake Management
Lake Wilson/Wahiawa Reservoir
The HFFA is currently exploring ways to effectively manage Lake Wilson to ensure that the lake continues to be a viable source of recreational fishing on Oahu. The principles and essentials of lake management are critical in developing a viable plan. The HFFA recently initiated contacts with experts in the lake management field to elicit their assistance in developing a system for Lake Wilson. The HFFA envisions a partnership with various State and community entities to collectively develop, plan, implement and sustain a viable lake management program for Lake Wilson.

The otoliths sit anterior to where the spine connects with the skull of the fish. With a small pair of dykes, gently cut the bone in front of where the spine attaches. There will be a small cavity and the otoliths will be inside that. The photos are of a striped bass we caught and removed the otoliths. There are two of them in each fish.
