I am a behavioral finance scholar exploring how psychological forces shape financial decision-making and economic systems, trained at the University of Chicago Booth School under Nobel Laureate Richard H. Thaler. My research has been published in top journals such as the American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, and Journal of Finance, with nearly 7,000 citations and more than 10 Best Paper Awards. I have also served as an Associate Editor of the Review of Financial Studies. My work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and Harvard Business Review, and has been presented at over 100 academic forums in the United States, Europe, and Asia, including the National Bureau of Economic Research and the World Economic Forum in Davos.
I have held senior academic leadership roles, most recently as Dean at Chapman University, where I led initiatives to improve the business school’s rankings and academic reputation, grow revenues and enrollment, launch interdisciplinary programs, expand corporate partnerships, and elevate student success and career outcomes. Earlier, as Vice Dean at the University of Miami Herbert Business School, I led initiatives to transform programs through online and hybrid formats, build a robust executive education platform, and enhance global reach.
Today, I focus on advancing behavioral finance through research and writing, advising education leaders and founders, and supporting ventures that shape the future of learning.
