The elevated view from the Charbonneaus' house looks out over Sheepscot Bay, and a covered walkway connects it to the converted bell tower, (below), where overnight guests can fall asleep to the sound of waves lapping on the shore.

Gil, a licensed commercial sea captain, devotes his time at home to building miniature ship's models in glass bottles.

Mary, who spent childhood summers in Hendricks Head Lighthouse, has her own catering business, and while she occasionally uses an old cast-iron stove for cooking family meals, she relies mostly on a modern gas range for preparing customers' orders.
