My grandparents, Victor and Besse Chicoine, had a summer home on Southport Island they had built in the 1930s. My family has been going there ever since. Hendrick's Head Beach holds a special place in my heart. The lighthouse, although you can only see its side by land, has always held my imagination. And I felt it was about time that I researched this historic landmark by the sea. So, in January 2013, I created this website.
