We are very sorry to announce the passing of Mary Ducharme on September 5th, 2022. Mary was Past-President of Archives Hemmingford, after taking over from Betty MacKenzie. Mary was instrumental in getting the new Archives building built, and contributed so much to the curation of the history of Hemmingford. Our sincere condolences to her husband Richard, and to her daughter Kate and family. A private family memorial service has taken place. Good-bye Mary, we will miss you.

Nous sommes désolés de vous annoncer le décès de Mary Ducharme le 5 septembre, 2022. Mary était présidente sortante des Archives Hemmingford, après avoir succédé à Betty MacKenzie. Mary a joué un rôle déterminant dans la construction du nouveau bâtiment des Archives et a beaucoup contribué à la conservation de l'histoire d'Hemmingford. Nos sincères condoléances à son époux Richard, ainsi qu'à sa fille Kate et sa famille. Un service commémoratif familial privé a eu lieu. Au revoir Mary, tu vas nous manquer.

UNE EXPOSITION DE PHOTOS ANCIENNES À HAVELOCK

Ce projet consiste à mettre en valeur le patrimoine et enrichir la collection de la municipalité du Canton de Havelock.

Nous sommes à la recherche de photos anciennes en noir et blanc (acériculture, agriculture, cidreries, commerces, documents anciens, écoles, églises, familles, fermes, Foire d’Havelock, gouffre, maisons, moulins à scie, paysages, pomiculture, sports, etc.) en prévision d’une exposition à l’Hôtel de ville de Havelock.

Si vous êtes intéressés, nous vous demandons de prendre un rendez-vous et laisser vos coordonnées au 450-826-4741. Nous serons disponibles à numériser vos photos dimanche le 4 octobre 2020 à l’Hôtel de ville de Havelock de 9 h 00 à 16 h 00. Vos photos seront numérisées sur place et vous seront remises immédiatement. Nous profiterons de ce moment avec vous pour les identifier.

AN EXHIBITION OF OLD PHOTOS IN HAVELOCK

This project consists in enhancing the heritage and enriching the collection of the municipality of the Canton of Havelock.

We are looking for old black and white photos (maple syrup, agriculture, cider mills, shops, old documents, schools, churches, families, farms, Havelock Fair, the Gulf, houses, sawmills, landscapes, apple growing, sports, etc.) in anticipation of an exhibition at Havelock City Hall.

If you are interested, please leave a message at 450-826-4741, we will be available to scan your photos on Sunday October 4th 2020 at Havelock Town Hall from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Your photos will be scanned on site and delivered to you immediately. We will take advantage of this moment with you to identify them.

Sharing your photos also means saving them for future generations.

Announcement:

Mary Ducharme of Archives Hemmingford has been unanimously selected as the winner of the

2020 Marion Phelps Award.

The Marion Phelps Award is presented annually by QAHN (Quebec Anglophone Heritage Network) 

in recognition of outstanding long-term contributions by an individual to the preservation and 

promotion of Anglophone heritage in the province of Quebec.
