SOCS0030: Introduction to Economics I, UCL Social Research Institute, BSc Social Sciences with Data Science/BSc Social Science
This is the first part of the Introduction to Economics sequence offered for first-year social science/social science with data science students at UCL SRI. The sequence serves a dual purpose: introducing student to an "economic way of thinking" and teach them a basic microeconomics/macroeconomics toolkit to analyze policy questions relating to, for instance, labor markets, taxation, trade or health care. This first part discusses the foundations of demand and supply and introduces the concept of market failures.
