Open House Events

The High Bridge Railroad Club hosts Open Houses for the public several times during the year.  Open Houses are typically held during the annual Heart of Virginia Festival in the Spring, and during the Christmas holiday season.  The public is invited to visit the Club to view our growing collection of railroad memorabilia, and to see model trains operating on all 3 of our layouts.  Open House events are free of charge and we invite the whole family to come visit us.

2025 Open House Events

• September 13, 2025: Heart of Virginia Festival

  • During the Town of Farmville's annual Heart of Virginia festival, we will be running trains from 10am until 2pm, welcoming folks to check out what we're all about, and if you'll be interested in joining. 

• September 20, 2025: Open House Operating Session

  • Join us on Saturday, September 20th for an open call for new operators. We will be hosting our regularly scheduled operating session, while welcoming any people looking to learn more about the world of model railroading. We'll have plenty of locomotives for folks to try their hand at running trains, or who just want to observe us running. We will plan on getting started around 10am, and while trains will be running, there will be a DCC 101 workshop held in the upstairs stage area for approx. 1 hour.
