My diversity commitment to teaching, research and services
I am committed to promoting and supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of my teaching, research, and service. I believe that a diverse and inclusive academic community is essential for fostering a rich and engaging learning environment for all students, as well as for advancing knowledge and understanding through collaborative and cross-disciplinary efforts.
In my teaching, I strive to create a welcoming and inclusive classroom that values the perspectives and experiences of all students, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, socio-economic status, or other personal characteristics. I also seek to incorporate diverse materials, perspectives, and voices into my curriculum, so that students can gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of the world around them.
In my research, I aim to engage with underrepresented communities and to address issues of social justice and inequality. I believe that research should not only advance knowledge but also have a positive impact on society.
In my service, I am committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within my department, college, and the wider academic community. I am also actively involved in initiatives and programs that aim to diversify the professoriate and support underrepresented students and scholars in their pursuit of academic excellence.
